This painting was inspired by several poems about losing various parts in our life to find what truly matters. Following that vein, I felt losing the outlines and definitions of elements in the landscape helped me illustrate the freedom and beauty of being outside in a more evocative way.

Sometimes I feel like my paintings are like my children, and so l shouldn’t have favourites, but this is a firm favourite! In the pursuit of calmness, this paintings brings us a place to rest and nestle into softness. A space that allows your imagination to wander, and to relish the gentle palette.

What I would like to convey in the painting is the contrast of our small sphere in relation to the big universe. I would like to viewer to experience a sense of space, and how we can find peace in ourselves surrounded by nature.
