Solo Exhibition Review

“Belinda’s work is deliciously painterly with juicy brushstrokes cut through with sketching strokes that describe detail in an almost calligraphic way. Her colour palette is rich and sophisticated showing a real sensitivity for hue, tone and temperature i.e. cool juxtaposed with warm. Her composition is also intuitively dynamic, creating movement and the perception of depth. It is clear to see from these pieces that Ross is an artist who loves the process of painting which results in artwork that is totally alive and not contrived in any way. Her love of the bush landscape and its rich flora is also evident and makes me want to get out there with an easel myself and paint!”
