This painting is inspired by photographs I took at Cape Point on the Cape Peninsula, Western Cape The area is characterized by rugged terrain, interspersed with tremendous immense boulders. The indigenous Fynbos is stunning, with a dazzling palette. When I was painting, I wanted to convey the cragginess and contrast of the vicinity. The environment I explored was extraordinary to me.
